Very important is a road loss of Azkoitia (2-1) against GDKO Bizkaia (1-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Azkoitia was defeated by GDKO Bizkaia in a tough game in Galdakao 58-62. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 19-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. GDKO Bizkaia outrebounded Azkoitia 51-33 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Cameroonian forward Achiri Ade (185, college: Texas A&M) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Center Patricia Valiente (185-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 10 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Tamara Taylor (178-93, college: S.Florida) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Janee Johnson (185, college: Seton Hall) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Azkoitia's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. GDKO Bizkaia will meet Sant Adria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Azkoitia will play against Aros Leon where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
