Regular Season Round 4: Samorin - Piestanske C. 51-86

An interesting game for Piestanske C. (3-0) which played road game in Samorin against top-ranked Samorin (3-1). Top-ranked Piestanske C. had an easy win 86-51. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Samorin. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Piestanske C. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Samorin's 24. They outrebounded Samorin 38-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds and international Angelika Slamova (173-94) who added 17 points during the contest. At the losing side the former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Alexandra Haskova (183-97) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Piestanske C. have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Samorin at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Good Angels. Piestanske C. will play against BAM Poprad (#5) at home in the next round. Samorin will play against MBK Ruzomberok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
