Regular Season Round 7: Shinshu BW - Toyotsu FE 77-92

Not a big story in a game in Nagano where 4th placed Shinshu BW (2-5) was defeated by second ranked Toyotsu FE (6-1) 92-77 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-77. It was a great evening for Nigeria center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 20 rebounds. Point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) helped adding 23 points. At the losing side American forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyotsu FE have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Shimane SM. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Toyotsu FE will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play again at home against the league's second-placed Toyotsu FE (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
