Regular Season Round 5: Haneda Vickies - Denso Iris 63-94

Another exciting game was played in Tokyo between fourth ranked Denso Iris and 6th ranked Haneda Vickies where Denso Iris (3-1) crushed Haneda Vickies (2-2) on the road with 31-point difference 94-63. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. Haneda Vickies was better in fourth quarter 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Denso Iris dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Haneda Vickies' 38. They outrebounded Haneda Vickies 40-24 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Haneda Vickies were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. International center Sakura Akaho (182-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Four Denso Iris players scored in double figures. Guard LiQuan Luohe (165-91) answered with 27 points and forward Yuki Morimoto (177-84) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Haneda Vickies. Haneda Vickies' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Denso Iris have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Haneda Vickies at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
