Regular Season Round 4: BC Nokia - Kauhajoki 87-84

BC Nokia can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Kauhajoen Karhu (1-2) 87-84 on Saturday. Kauhajoen Karhu was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. BC Nokia made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. BC Nokia outrebounded Kauhajoen Karhu 34-23 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Eldar Skamo (198-86) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese forward Papa Dia (208-87, college: SMU) who added 19 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Kammeon Holsey (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kevin Ware (188-93, college: Georgia St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 13 points and 4 steals. Four Kauhajoen Karhu players scored in double figures. BC Nokia (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Korihait. Loser Kauhajoen Karhu keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Kouvot. BC Nokia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against UU-Korihait (#9) and hope to win that game.
