Regular Season Round 4: ViVe - HyPo 82-86

The most shocking disappointment of round 4 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked ViVe (2-2) to fourth ranked HyPo (3-1) 86-82. It ended the two-game winning streak of ViVe. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-18. But ViVe won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HyPo dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ViVe's 36. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky) who added 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her twelve free throws !!!) during the contest. HyPo's coach Miikka Sopanen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Ashley Luke (185-93, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and her fellow American import swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. HyPo have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Espoo Utd. ViVe at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. HyPo is looking forward to face league's leader Forssan Alku at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ViVe will play against Espoo Utd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
