There was no surprise when Pordenone (0-2) lost at home to Marghera (2-0) 69-62 on Saturday. Pordenone was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Marghera made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Guard Federica Iannucci (175-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Guard Erika Striulli (170-90) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Giulia Togliani (168-98) replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Elisa Pinzan (171-99) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pordenone. Pordenone's coach Renato Nani rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Marghera will face Alpo VF (#7) in Verona in the next round. Pordenone will play on the road against Fanola SML (#6) in San Martino di L and hope to win that game.
