Regular Season Round 4: Mondragon - TAKE Tolosa 76-64

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Mondragon and bottom-ranked TAKE Tolosa had identical 0-1 record. This time Mondragon used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Tolosa 76-64 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Mondragon. TAKE Tolosa was better in third quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TAKE Tolosa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Imanol Ceciaga (186-90) who helped to win the game recording 5 points and 9 assists and Mikel Arejolaleiba (185-90) who added 11 points and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side forward Ibai Gil (201) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Benat Azaldegi (196-94) scored 9 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Mondragon (1-1) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group A-A, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser TAKE Tolosa still closes the standings with two games lost. Mondragon will face Venta de Banos (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TAKE Tolosa will play against the league's leader Ardoi (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
