Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Medacbasket and bottom-ranked Coin had identical 0-1 record. But Coin was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Malaag 71-70 on Saturday night. Medacbasket forced 24 Coin turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard David McDaniel (-91, college: Elms) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Pablo Imbroda (-95) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side the former international center Ismael Torres (202-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jose Ballesteros (181-79) scored 18 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Medacbasket (1-1) left bottom position moving up to third place in Group D-A, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Coin still closes the standings with two games lost. Medacbasket will face Andujar (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
