Regular Season Round 3: Lucenec - Nitra 94-65

Very expected game when Nitra (0-4) was rolled over on the road by Lucenec (2-1) 94-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Lucenec led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Nitra's 30. Lucenec forced 23 Nitra turnovers and had a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) who recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Ladislav Stojanov (194-88) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lucenec will have a break next round. Nitra will play at home against Levice (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
