Everything went according to plan in Madrid where IF Air Europa (2-1) won against Olimpico 64 (0-3) 69-61 on Saturday. Olimpico 64 was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 10-point lead after three quarters before a 31-13 charge of IF Air Europa, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpico 64 to just 6 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Olimpico 64 40-22 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Patricia Soler (186-94, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Regina Gomez (173-82) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Katia Javier (182-93) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Julia Rabadan (180-86) added 13 points respectively. Olimpico 64's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. IF Air Europa will face Promete (#5) in the next round. Olimpico 64 will play against Rivas Promete (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
