Regular Season Round 3: Valencia - Rivas Promete 56-60

There was no surprise when Valencia (0-3) was defeated at home by Rivas Promete (3-0) 60-56 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 18-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Rivas Promete outrebounded Valencia 44-23 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Lithuania power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Lucia Togores (176-96) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was M'Angeles Munoz (-88) who recorded 13 points and Virginia Saez (-95) added 14 points respectively. Valencia's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rivas Promete will face Olimpico 64 (#13) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valencia will play on the road against C.Adelantados in San Cristobal and hopes to get finally their first victory.
