Regular Season Round 6: Toros - Caballos 65-46

Bottom-ranked Caballos is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Toros (2-4) 65-46 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Toros. Caballos managed to win second period 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Caballos to just 7 points in third quarter. Toros dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Caballos' 26. Ivanis Gonzalez notched 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Luz Sunez supported her with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even 11 points by Janessy Benalcazar did not help to save the game for Caballos. Guard Lirieth Gonzalez (170-1) added 10 points and 4 assists. Caballos' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Toros moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aguilas. Caballos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with six games lost. Toros will meet at home league's second-placed Halcones in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Caballos will play against the league's leader Panteras (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
