Regular Season Round 4: Ponferrada CDP - Calidus Gal.COB 88-92

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Ponferrada CDP (0-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked Calidus Gal.COB (1-0) 92-88 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch center Bob Van Zijverden (212-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and Georgia swingman Luka Bulashvili (192-98, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who added 18 points and 4 steals during the contest. Four Calidus Gal.COB players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's) responded with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Haitian-American forward James Cambronne (201-91, college: St.Michael's) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Ponferrada CDP's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Calidus Gal.COB left bottom position moving up to fifth place in Group A-B. Newly promoted Ponferrada CDP still closes the standings with two games lost. Calidus Gal.COB will face league's second-placed Estudiantes L. in Lugo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ponferrada CDP will play on the road against La Fecha (#9) in Arroyo Encomienda and hopes to get finally their first victory.
