There was no surprise when 5th ranked Alcobendas (2-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Real Madrid II (4-0) 78-64 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 30-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Real Madrid II outrebounded Alcobendas 43-32 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Alcobendas was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side power forward Daniel Trachsel (202-94) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Luis de la Pena (200-94) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid II have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with La Roda. Loser Alcobendas dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Real Madrid II will face league's leader La Roda on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alcobendas will play against Tenerife Naut.
