Regular Season Round 4: Strasbourg - Le Portel 75-71

Strasbourg IG can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Le Portel (1-3) 75-71 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-15. But Le Portel won second period 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strasbourg IG made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (208-94, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Pape Sy (201-88, agency: BeoBasket) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Strasbourg IG players scored in double figures. Strasbourg IG's coach Henrik Dettmann used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU, agency: Inception Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Darrin Dorsey (188-87, college: Dakota Wesleyan) scored 19 points. Strasbourg IG left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Le Portel. It was Le Portel's third loss in a row. Strasbourg IG will meet higher ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Le Portel will play against Hyeres-Toulon (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
