Regular Season Round 3: TS Ostrovia - AZS AJP GW 77-71

The biggest surprise of round 3 in TBLK took place in Ostrow Wlkp. where host TS Ostrovia (1-2) beat AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (2-1) 77-71 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-71. TS Ostrovia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Azia Capri Bishop (190-93, college: Kentucky, agency: Merit Management Group) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import point guard Jordan Jones (168-93, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Australia guard Stephanie Talbot (188-94) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will play next round against strong CCC Polkowice trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TS Ostrovia will try to continue on its current victory against Artego Bydg. in Bydgoszcz.
