Regular Season Round 4: Bourges - Mondeville 70-49

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Bourges (3-0) outscored at home 6th ranked Mondeville (1-2) 70-49. The game was mostly controlled by Bourges. Mondeville was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mondeville to just 5 points in third quarter. Bourges made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Mondeville only scored five points from the stripe. Bourges had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Bourges especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The winners were led by Brazilian center Clarissa Dos Santos (184-88) who scored that evening 11 points and 6 rebounds and British Johannah Leedham (178-87, college: Franklin Pierce) supported her with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Bourges players scored in double figures. Bourges' coach Valerie Garnier felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 8 points and 12 rebounds by power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) did not help to save the game for Mondeville. Lisa Berkani (176-97) added 6 points and 5 assists for lost side. Bourges have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader Landes. Mondeville at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. They share the position with Lattes Montp. and Flammes. Bourges will play against Lattes Montpellier (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mondeville will play against Nantes Reze and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
