Rather expected game when 5th ranked Lattes Montpellier (1-2) was defeated on the road by third ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (3-1) 70-59. The game was mostly controlled by Villeneuve D'Ascq. Lattes Montpellier was better in second period 20-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Villeneuve D'Ascq forced 20 Lattes Montpellier turnovers. The winners were led by Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 13 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Senegalese forward Mame-Marie Sy-Diop (185-85) supported her with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by the former international forward Fatimatou Sacko (177-85, agency: Comsport) did not help to save the game for Lattes Montpellier. International guard Anael Lardy (170-87, agency: Comsport) added 15 points for lost side. Villeneuve D'Ascq have a solid three-game winning streak. Lattes Montpellier will play at home against the league's second-placed Bourges to get more than just one victory in their record.
