Regular Season Round 4: Olivar - Cornella 81-84

Everything could happen in Zaragoza at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Cornella and bottom-ranked Olivar had identical 0-2 record. But Olivar was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Cornella 84-81 on Saturday night. Cornella forced 20 Olivar turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-95) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 assists and center Fernando Villalon (200-94) who added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Cornella players scored in double figures. At the losing side Cesar Hidalgo (188-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jaime Pradilla (198-1) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cornella (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eighth place in Group C-A, which they share with 4 other teams. It was Olivar's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. Cornella will face higher ranked Mataro (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Olivar will play against JAC Sants (#13) in Barcelona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
