Regular Season Round 5: Chanson V-M - Aishin AW 91-60

Bottom-ranked Aishin Wings (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-60 loss to seventh ranked Chanson V-M (2-1) in Shizuoka on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Chanson V-M. Aishin Wings was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Chanson V-M outrebounded Aishin Wings 41-24 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) who scored 13 points and 9 assists. International forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Swingman Zuozhi Aoyuan (167-91) produced 16 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) and the former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chanson V-M moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hitachi Cougars and Toyota B SR. Loser Aishin Wings still closes the standings with three games lost. Chanson V-M will face again Aishin Wings (#10) in Anjo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
