Regular Season Round 6: Lourdes - Quimper 66-90
Date: October 15, 2016
Everything went according to plan when second ranked Quimper UJAP (5-1) outscored on the road 13th ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (2-4) 90-66. The game was mostly controlled by Quimper UJAP. Lourdes-Tarbes was better in third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) contributed with 14 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Burke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. The former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Ukrainian swingman Denis Noskov (202-90) added 15 points in the effort for Lourdes-Tarbes. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimper UJAP maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Souffel. Lourdes-Tarbes at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with four games lost. Quimper UJAP's next round opponent will be Vendee Challans (#17) at home which should be another easy win for them. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against SAP Vaucluse (#8) in Sorgues and hope to win that game.
