Regular Season Round 5: Mitsubishi K. - Toyota B SR 80-69

Toyota B SR (2-1) recorded its first loss in Nagoya on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked Mitsubishi K. (1-2) 80-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toyota B SR. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-69. Mitsubishi K. had a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 assists. International center Asako Oh (189-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Mitsubishi K. players scored in double figures. Power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Masami Honda (176-91) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Toyota B SR's coach Fumikazu Nakagawa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mitsubishi K. left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Fujitsu RW. Toyota B SR at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with Chanson V-M and Hitachi Cougars. Mitsubishi K. is again looking forward to face higher ranked Toyota B SR (#6) in Aichi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyota B SR will have a break next round.
