Regular Season Round 4: Gimle BBK - Baerum Basket 77-74

A very close game took place in Bergen between Gimle BBK and Baerum Basket. Sixth ranked Gimle BBK (2-1) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Baerum Basket (2-3). Gimle BBK managed to escape with a 3-point win 77-74 in the fight for the fifth place. Baerum Basket cut a 13-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and the former international guard Daniel Berg (195-86, college: NYIT) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) responded with 31 points and 4 assists and American point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gimle BBK moved-up to fifth place. Loser Baerum Basket dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Gimle BBK will meet league's leader Froya Basket in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Baerum Basket will play against the league's second-placed Nidaros Jets (#2) in Tromdheim and hope to secure a win.
