Regular Season Round 4: Mataro - Calvia 82-90

There was an upset when higher ranked Mataro (2-1) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Calvia (1-1) 90-82 on Sunday. Mataro was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jose Maria Morales (205-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and forward Ivan Matemalas (194-80) who added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) during the contest. Five Calvia players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Santiago Serrataco (187-90) responded with 30 points and Saikou Diallo (-98) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Calvia left bottom position moving up to seventh place in Group C-A. Mataro at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Calvia will face Barna (#10) in Barcelona in the next round. Mataro will play on the road against Cornella (#11) and hope to win that game.
