Regular Season Round 3: Valdiceppo - Venafro 89-66

Valdiceppo used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Venafro 89-66 on Sunday night. Valdiceppo made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Venafro turnovers. Venafro was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Federico Burini (190-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Umberto Meschini (190-94) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Valdiceppo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Mario Tamburrini (188-94) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Ferdinando Smorra (184-88) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valdiceppo will face Taranto (#14) on the road in the next round. Venafro will play against Montegrano and hopes to get finally their first victory.
