Regular Season Round 3: Cortegada - Sant Adria 76-72

Sant Adria (2-1) recorded a loss in Vilagarcia Arousa on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Cortegada (2-1) 76-72. They made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. Cortegada outrebounded Sant Adria 48-30 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Sant Adria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Amy Syll (196-93) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Belen Mejias (180-91) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Olga Ruano (191-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and forward Mireia Vila (183-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 21 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Five Cortegada and four Sant Adria players scored in double figures. Sant Adria's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cortegada is looking forward to face Oviedo (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sant Adria will play against GDKO Bizkaia (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
