Regular Season Round 4: Martorell - Santfeliuenc 84-49

Date: October 16, 2016
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Martorell as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group C-A. Martorell smashed 6th ranked Santfeliuenc at home 84-49. The game was mostly controlled by Martorell. Santfeliuenc was better in fourth quarter 13-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Martorell forced 25 Santfeliuenc turnovers and outrebounded them 52-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by forward Alex Hernandez (190-93) who scored that evening 25 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard David Jofresa (186-95) supported him with 16 points. Four Martorell players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-87) did not help to save the game for Santfeliuenc. Point guard Alberto Balboa (186-79) added 9 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Martorell have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Menorca. Santfeliuenc at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Santfeliuenc will play next round against strong Menorca trying to get back on the winning streak. Martorell will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Sant Nicolau at Sabadell.
