Regular Season Round 3: Venezia - Ragusa 68-47

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Ragusa (2-1) on the court of Venezia. Visitors were rolled over by Venezia 68-47. The game without a history. Venezia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Venezia forced 23 Ragusa turnovers. It was a good game for American point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) who led her team to a victory with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (190-86, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Belgian point guard Julie Vanloo (172-93) answered with 11 points and international guard Maddalena Gorini (182-92) added 10 points in the effort for Ragusa. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezia will play against La Spezia (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ragusa will play against Lucca (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
