Regular Season Round 4: Joventut - Iberostar Tener. 73-78

Bottom-ranked Joventut (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 78-73 loss to top-ranked CB Canarias (4-0) in Badalona. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. It looked good early as Joventut took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then CB Canarias took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. The winners were led by Canadian-Dutch forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-85, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 28 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Rodrigo San Miguel (186-85) supported him with 11 points and 6 assists. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by Serbian forward Luka Bogdanovic (210-85) did not help to save the game for Joventut. The former international swingman Sergi Vidal (198-81) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. CB Canarias have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Dominion BB. Joventut at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. CB Canarias' next round opponent will be Unicaja Malaga (#10) at home and are hoping to win another game. Joventut will play against Baskonia (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
