The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Toyama Grouses' (1-7) home loss to fifth ranked Yokohama BC (3-5) 69-81 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-69. Point guard Masashi Hosoya (173-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Five Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. American center Earl Barron (211-81, college: Memphis) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Yu Okada (184-83) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Toyama Grouses. Toyama Grouses' coach Bob Nash rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yokohama BC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Toyama Grouses lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Yokohama BC will face Niigata Albirex (#4) at home in the next round. Toyama Grouses will play against the league's second-placed Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and hope to win that game.
