Top ranked Quimsa (6-3) recorded its third loss in Formosa on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked La Union (3-4) 76-67. La Union dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Quimsa's 28. Venezuela swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) fired 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Facundo Pinero (200-88) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four La Union players scored in double figures. American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: Cent.Florida) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Luciano Gonzalez (190-90) added 12 points respectively for lost side. La Union moved-up to sixth place in Norte, which they share with Regatas C. Quimsa at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. La Union is looking forward to face Libertad Sunchales (#10) on the road in the next round. Quimsa will play against Atenas (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
