Regular Season Round 1: Cactus Tbilisi - Kutaisi 79-76

A very interesting game took place in Tbilisi. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of Kutaisi (0-1) to Cactus Tbilisi (1-0) 79-76 on Monday evening. It looked good early as Kutaisi took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cactus Tbilisi had a 26-15 second period charge getting the lead and Kutaisi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-79. Worth to mention a great performance of American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Terik Bridgeman (198, college: William Pater.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) answered with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and Beka Bekauri (207-91) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Kutaisi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kutaisi's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cactus Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Mgzavrebi.
