There was an upset in Helsinki where higher ranked Jyvaskyla BA (2-2) was defeated by ninth ranked HBA-Marsky (2-3) 91-80 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 52-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. HBA-Marsky forced 20 Jyvaskyla BA turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 70.6 percentage. Jyvaskyla BA was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Lassi Nikkarinen (184-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists and point guard Edon Maxhuni (183-98) who added 25 points during the contest. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Miikka Marttinen (195-92) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ville Lehtonen (185-95) scored 10 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. HBA-Marsky moved-up to eighth place in Division. Newly promoted Jyvaskyla BA dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. HBA-Marsky will face higher ranked Espoo United (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
