Regular Season Round 7: St Vallier - Chartres 88-85

A very interesting game took place in Saint Vallier. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 13th ranked UB Chartres (2-5) to third ranked Saint Vallier (5-2) 88-85 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. UB Chartres was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 31-21 third quarter run of Saint Vallier. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Omar Strong (175-90, college: Texas Southern) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Point guard Olivier Romain (180-88) came up with 25 points and 7 assists and swingman Kevin Bichard (195-86) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for UB Chartres in the defeat. Saint Vallier maintains third place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Souffel, which they share with GET Vosges and Vitre. UB Chartres at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Saint Vallier's next round opponent will be SAP Vaucluse (#10) in Sorgues and are hoping to win another game. UB Chartres will play at home against Union Rennes (#8) and hope to win that game.
