There was an upset when 4th placed MCKiS Jaworz. (3-2) lost to tenth ranked AZS PCz (2-3) in Czestochowa 72-79 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 23-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. AZS PCz looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Przemyslaw Laszewski (194-90) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five AZS PCz players scored in double figures. Guard Dawid Grochowski (190-89) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Kamil Michalski (200-94) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for MCKiS Jaworz.MCKiS Jaworz.'s coach Marcin Lichtanski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. AZS PCz moved-up to ninth place in Group C, which they share with AZS PS Gliwice. Loser MCKiS Jaworz. dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. AZS PCz will face again higher ranked MCKiS Jaworz. (#5) in Jaworzno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
