Regular Season Round 7: Haneda Vickies - Fujitsu RW 51-70

The most interesting game of round 7 in the WJBL was a home defeat of 7th ranked Haneda Vickies (2-3) by sixth ranked Fujitsu RW (3-2) who outscored them by 19 points 70-51. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-51. Fujitsu RW dominated on the defensive end, holding Haneda Vickies to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. It was a great evening for international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. International point guard Rui Machida (161-93) helped adding 13 points and 6 assists. At the losing side guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) responded with 13 points and center BenWang Jin (179-92) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujitsu RW have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Toyota B SR. Haneda Vickies lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Mitsubishi K. and Hitachi Cougars. Fujitsu RW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Haneda Vickies will play again at home against Fujitsu RW (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
