Regular Season Round 3: Palermo - Udine Delser 58-68

There was an upset when Palermo (1-1) was defeated at home by Udine Delser (1-2) 68-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Udine Delser. Palermo was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Udine Delser dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Palermo's 30. It was a great evening for Nigeria-British swingman Ejay Ofomata (180-86, college: Central State) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points. Power forward Eva Da Pozzo (182-95) helped adding 13 points and 10 rebounds. Udine Delser's coach Valdi Medeot used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Laura Perseu (169-85) with 23 points and forward Marta Verona (178-94) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Udine Delser will face Ferrara (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
