Regular Season Round 9: Tokyo Excel. - Toyotsu FE 67-77

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Toyotsu FE (8-1) beat on the road 6th ranked Tokyo Excel. (2-7) 77-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Toyotsu FE. Tokyo Excel. was better in fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Nigeria center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import center Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) added 10 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Tokyo Excel.Four Tokyo Excel. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Toyotsu FE. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Nishinomiya S. Tokyo Excel. lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Toyotsu FE will have a break next round. Tokyo Excel. will play again at home against the league's second-placed Toyotsu FE (#2) and hope to win that game.
