Regular Season Round 5: Pelplin - TKM Wloclawek 67-55

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Pelplin as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Pelplin defeated 12th ranked TKM Wloclawek in Pelpin 67-55. The game was mostly controlled by Pelplin. TKM Wloclawek was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TKM Wloclawek 49-26 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Wiktor Czyzewski (196-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Pelplin players scored in double figures. Forward Grzegorz Soltysiak (198-87) responded with 12 points and swingman Juliusz Baranski (196-96) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. TKM Wloclawek's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Pelplin have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. TKM Wloclawek lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. They share the position with AZS PP. TKM Wloclawek will play next round against Domino Inowr. trying to get back on the winning streak. Pelplin will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked AZS UMK Torun on the road.
