Regular Season Round 5: Polonia Bytom - R8 Basket Krk. 67-78

Everything went according to plan when leader AZS PK (5-0) defeated on the road 4th placed Polonia Bytom (3-2) 78-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS PK. Polonia Bytom was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Polonia Bytom was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Wojciech Pisarczyk (201-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Jakub Zalucki (194-89, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. AZS PK's coach Rafal Knap allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Tomasz Wrobel (186-85) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Polonia Bytom. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted AZS PK maintains first place in Group C with 5-0 record. Loser Polonia Bytom dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. AZS PK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Krakow Wisla Krakow.
