Regular Season Round 9: Yamagata - Iwate Big Bulls 55-67

The game between second ranked Yamagata (5-4) and sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (1-8) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Yamagata was defeated by Iwate Big Bulls in Yamagata 55-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Yamagata. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 29-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) answered with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Shusuke Yamamoto (174-93) added 12 points in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iwate Big Bulls left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Kagoshima. Yamagata at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Cyberdyne IR and Fukushima. Iwate Big Bulls will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamagata will play again at home against Iwate Big Bulls and is hoping to win this game.
