Regular Season Round 5: Lucenec - Karlovka 91-69

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Lucenec (3-1) smashed at home 8th ranked Karlovka (1-3) 91-69 on Saturday. Lucenec shot 62.0 percent from the field. The best player for the winners was American center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists. Four Lucenec players scored in double figures. International guard Dalibor Hlivak (190-95) produced 15 points and 5 assists and center Ivan Zidzik (208-90, college: NW Nazarene) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lucenec moved-up to fourth place. Karlovka lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Lucenec will meet at home league's leader Levice in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Karlovka will play against Iskra Svit (#5) and hope to win that game.
