The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-67. Halcones forced 20 Toros turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. L Rincon fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international Maritzenia Bedoya chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Halcones players scored in double figures. Nayelis Gutierres produced 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Angela Lara (170-0) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Toros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Halcones. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader Panteras. Newly promoted Toros dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Aguilas. Halcones will meet bottom-ranked Caballos (#6) in the next round. Toros will play against Caballos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
