Rather expected game in Kariya where 4th placed Kyoto Hannar. (3-6) was crushed by second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (6-3) 66-37 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aishin Sea Horses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kyoto Hannar. to just 7 points in second quarter. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 9 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) with 8 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aishin Sea Horses. They maintain second place with 6-3 record behind leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Ryukyu GK. Kyoto Hannar. lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face again Kyoto Hannar. (#5) at home in the next round.
