Regular Season Round 8: Argentino - Weber Bahia 75-54
Date: October 22, 2016
Weber Bahia (7-1) recorded its first loss in Junin. Visitors were rolled over by eighth ranked Argentino (3-5) 75-54. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Weber Bahia. The game was mostly controlled by Argentino. Weber Bahia was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Weber Bahia to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider, agency: DTMones) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Emiliano Basabe (193-92) who added 8 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Argentino players scored in double figures. American center Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and international Juan Pablo Vaulet (198-96) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Argentino moved-up to seventh place in Sur. Weber Bahia at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Argentino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Weber Bahia will play on the road against San Lorenzo in Almagra and hopes to get back on the winning track.
