Regular Season Round 7: SAP Vaucluse - Lourdes 80-82

A very close game took place in Sorgues between Lourdes-Tarbes and SAP Vaucluse. Thirteenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (3-4) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked SAP Vaucluse (3-4). Lourdes-Tarbes managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 in the fight for the tenth place. SAP Vaucluse was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 17-10 charge of Lourdes-Tarbes, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 SAP Vaucluse turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 5 assists and 9 steals. Ukrainian swingman Denis Noskov (202-90) helped adding 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the losing side American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and Jamaica forward Ricardo Alliman (201-87, college: Cedarville) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SAP Vaucluse's coach Sylvain Lautie rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated SAP Vaucluse. Lourdes-Tarbes will meet at home Vendee Challans (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SAP Vaucluse will play against Saint Vallier (#5) and hope to secure a win.
