Regular Season Round 6: Visby - IK Eos 72-83

Bottom-ranked Visby Ladies (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-72 loss to fifth ranked IK Eos (4-2) in Visby on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-72. American Vee Young (186-89, college: Martin Methodist) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Austria guard Georgia De Leeuw (177-90) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. Young is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four IK Eos players scored in double figures. IK Eos' coach Johanna Ericsson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Danielle McCray (185-93, college: Mississippi) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Taylor Gault (173-93, college: UALR) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. IK Eos have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted IK Eos maintains fifth position with 4-2 record. Loser Visby Ladies still closes the standings with seven games lost. IK Eos will meet league's leader Udominate in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Visby Ladies will play against KFUM Ostersund (#7) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
