Bottom-ranked T71 Dudelange (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 60-49 loss to fifth ranked AB Contern (2-1) in Dudelange on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. AB Contern forced 27 T71 Dudelange turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and German center Nadine Grieb (184-87) who added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Samantha Guastella (185-93, college: Quinnipiac) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Svenia Nurenberg (176-0) scored 3 points and 8 rebounds. T71 Dudelange's coach Thierry Kremer rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. AB Contern moved-up to third place, which they share with Basket Esch and Musel Pikes. Loser T71 Dudelange still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Telstar. AB Contern will meet Musel Pikes (#5) in the next round.
