Regular Season Round 7: Toyota A. - Aishin AW 76-69

Bottom-ranked Aishin Wings (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to leader Toyota A. (5-0) 76-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aishin Wings won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aishin Wings 45-32 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Mori Binge (180-88) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Kaede Kondo (173-91) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Toyota A.'s coach Don Beck allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and point guard CaiDeng Sakai (164-95) added 11 points in the effort for Aishin Wings. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Toyota A.. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with JX-Eneos S. Aishin Wings lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Toyota A.'s next round opponent will be again Aishin Wings (#10) in Anjo and are hoping to win another game.
